 Front Seat Cables.
Under the Front Seat Cushion Pan is a cable that connects the inboard and outboard recliner mechanisms.
On some PT Cruisers this cable is under the pan, on others the cable passes through the cushion pan.

If on your car the cable is under the pan; simply lift up on the pan after removing the 4 bolts.

If the cable passes through the pan; follow the directions below to disconnect one side of the cable,
and slide the cable out of the pan.

1.
After removing the side plastic covers,
you will see the cable end.

(Shown here by the red arrow)
2.
The factory added a Zip-Tie
to hold the cable end in place.

(cable end shown here with a red  *  for reference)
3.
Push the Zip-Tie off of the
cable end holder
with a flat-blade screwdriver.
4.
Push up on the cable end to
disengage the cable from the holder.
5.
Lift the cable end up to release
the cable from the recliner mechanism.

Slide the 'ball' of the cable
up & out of it's holder.
6.
Push the recliner mechanism cable
through the cushion pan.

(Cutting the original upholstery a bit helps
as the  holes in the upholstery does not
align with the holes in the steel pan)

When re-assembling it's OK to
leave the cable under the pan.

After working with the front seat cushion pan,
re-install the cable end in a reverse fashion.
Push the Zip-Tie back into place.
