How to Remove & Replace
 PT Door Panels
 Back

  Door Panels:

The PT door panel is an assemblage of parts heat melted together,
(this is so it's faster to assemble at the factory).
The door panel will come off of the car as one piece.

 In a nutshell you will:
  1. Remove bolts and screws.
   2. Unclip the latch mechanism.
    3. 'Pop' the door panel clips.
     4. Re-Install the door panel.

To remove door panels from the car:

1. ROLL THE WINDOWS DOWN.

2. Pop off the mirror caps, pull straight off, they have metal clips on the back.
(if you have manual mirrors leave the cable attached)

On the rear doors pull off the caps in the same manner.

3. Remove the screws from around the edge and behind the opener latch.

4. Remove the 2 bolts from the armrest.

'Pop' the door panel clips around the edge.

A towel wrapped putty knife or flat blade screwdriver will keep the paint from getting scratched.

Then:
Lift the door panel up & out
of the track at the top by the glass.

Unclip the latch mechanism,
swivel the clip off of the rod,
leave the clip in the latch,
pull out the rod.

Un-plug the power locks wire from the latch
(if so equipped).

Re-Install the door panel.
